Deborah Davis Groves “Deb/Mrs. G” ~
Founder/Director of Davis Groves Educational Services

Grateful….that is my mantra for my life! I am beyond grateful for the business that I founded in 2011 – Davis Groves Educational Services (DGES). I am grateful for the past 15 years of working/assisting students/families through this crazy competitive world that we call college admissions!!

I am grateful that my daughter, Aubrey Groves, has personally grown while at the same time grew me in this family business that I set up intentionally for her. And on January 1, 2026,

I officially handed over the CEO reins to this amazing woman who will now lead our incredible four member DGES Team – Aubrey, Kendra, Jordie, and Mrs. G!

Aubrey SO deserves this new role as she understands what it is to work with students and to provide that personal assistance. She gets the competitiveness of the admissions process because she not only went to the high end colleges – Davidson and Duke, but she also taught at two top level boarding schools on the east coast. She has grown and mentored college independent educational consultants throughout the Central Texas area and personally chose two amazing consultants to join our DGES Team – Kendra Young and Jordie Kavanaugh. Aubrey has traveled all over the world, even camping out on the Great Wall of China – so she sees beyond what is right in front of her. And, she is technically brilliant as she constantly works on streamlining our business to become more efficient for our students/clients. She is ready and excited to become the Davis Groves Educational Services CEO!!

I will not be leaving my DGES team completely as I will step back, no longer working with families, and I will assume the administrative role doing things in the background to ease the extreme work that our DGES team is called to do. This step back will allow me to enjoy much deserved time with my husband, Randy, on new adventures that we are pursuing! More importantly, it will also give me the much deserved and wanted ability to spend time with my family – my son, Jordan, and my two daughters/their spouses Aubrey/Thomas, Everly/Michael, and my three little grandsons!

It's funny, when I started Davis Groves Educational Services, it was as much about keeping me busy and out of trouble because Randy was traveling all of the world and the “empty nest” was really lonely for me! DGES started out with 1 student in 2011, and it grew to working with almost 1,000 students many of whom were from returning families over the years! I am my father’s daughter. He was an amazing entrepreneur in his own right that taught me that customer service is everything. That is something that I have passed on and really emphasized to my DGES Team. We have also turned away well over 600 students/families because we were full! We have grown to become one of the most highly sought after companies to assist students and families through their college admissions process – starting as early as 8th grade with our students/families. We are one of the hardest working teams and we are told that all the time by other consultants because it’s NEVER about us, it’s ALWAYS about our clients! We work to help our students become empowered in who they are and help them realistically look at the college process to find their “right fit” college where they will flourish! We ALWAYS tell our students…the college doesn’t define you…YOU DEFINE YOU!!

So, as I make this transition to Founder/Director of Davis Groves Educational Services, I want to take a line from Taylor Swift’s Long Live Song, “Long live all the magic we’ve made, I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you”! This says it all for me…I have had one of the greatest honors working with every student and family – we’ve been through a lot together, we’ve grown together! But I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to assist you through this crazy, competitive journey that we call college admissions! And, I say to each of you….keep becoming empowered in who you are called to be. I personally never stopped because at 55 years old who would have thought, I started Davis Groves Educational Services which became one of the most successful college admissions consulting businesses in Texas and beyond! And, now, it’s Aubrey’s turn to take over the helm and I could not be prouder and more excited as I hand it off to her!
